Comparison

This little post was inspired by a blog posting of my friend who raises this issue out. Read her blog here before proceeding to read my entry.

It is an undeniable fact that we at times do not wish to be compared to another person. And that includes me. One of the main reason why is because of the fact that each one of us is unique in our own way whereby we grew up under different situations and circumstances as well as the level of exposure that each of us gained in our life. Some were exposed to independence at a much younger age than others while some had a life changing experience that others would never ever going to encounter in their lives. Hence, each of us is built up with a uniquely different set of mould. And in life, we are always growing and learning.

But it is not easy to be escaped from comparison. Comparison is used widely. In businesses, they are used to benchmark themselves with their competitors. In individual lives, they are used to determine success. But to me, if it is not used properly, it is a tool for bragging, jealousy, and insult. In short, it is a tool used to hurt others and sometimes, hurt your own self esteem. But of course, it is never being used properly when you are being compared to another successful person.

Therefore, I hate COMPARISON!!!
